Types of Membership

 

Lodging Property (formerly Active)

Lodging Property members shall be licensed lodging properties within the State of Hawaii that have met the requirements of the Hawai‘i Lodging & Tourism Association and are approved by the Board of Directors. They shall be represented by such person as may be designated by the management of the lodging property. Such representatives shall be called “lodging property members,” and shall have the right to hold office in the Association and vote at all meetings of the membership. Lodging Property membership dues are as follows:

            Property Size

HLTA Annual Dues (to be paid quarterly)

Under Construction

  $275.00 per year

1 - 50 rooms

  $500 per year

51 - 200 rooms

  $10.88 per room

201 - 400 rooms

  $2,176.00 plus $11.43 per room over 200

401 - 600 rooms

  $4,462.00 plus $11.97 per room over 400

601 and over

  $6,856.00 plus $12.56 per room over 600


Lodging Management/Owner (formerly Special Active)

Lodging Management/Owner members shall be persons active in the management of a group or chain of lodging properties wholly or partly engaged in business in the State of Hawaii. Such special class of lodging property members shall have the right to hold office in the Association and vote at all meetings of the membership. Lodging Management/Owner membership dues are $250 annually as of January 1, 2018.

Allied

Allied members shall be in a business affiliated with the hospitality industry in Hawai`i. Allied members shall have the right and privileges of Active and Special Active members, but shall not have the right to vote or hold office, except that an Allied member may hold the office of Treasurer. Allied membership dues are $475 annually as of February 1, 2018. Secondary Allied members may join at dues of $375 annually as of February 1, 2018.

Associate

An Associate member shall be any person who has been a lodging manager but who has retired from the lodging business or any person who has been a representative for a member Allied company, but who has retired from the workforce. Associate Members shall not have the right to vote or to hold any office in the Association. Associate dues are $250 annually.

Sole Practioner

Sole Practitioner members shall be persons active in the management of a group or chain or lodging properties wholly or partly engaged in business in the State of Hawaii or is active in the lodging business outside the State of Hawaii. Sole Practitioner members shall have the right to hold office and vote. Sole Practitioner dues are $250 annually.
